If you’re passionate about retail and ready to build a real career, Massmart’s 2025 Retail Learnership Programme could be your perfect next step. This opportunity is designed for young, unemployed South Africans looking to gain hands-on experience and a recognised qualification in the wholesale and retail industry.
Over the course of 12 months (from August 2025 to July 2026), you’ll work in a real retail environment, gain practical skills, and complete a National Certificate in Wholesale and Retail Operations—all while earning a stipend and being mentored by retail experts.

Entry Requirements

A South African ID and Matric/Grade 12 certificate

To be currently unemployed (or employed for less than 12 months with any one employer)

Not studying full-time or involved in any SETA-funded programme in 2025/26

Willing to work flexible retail hours on a fixed-term contract
